Kanika shares how homeopathy and hypnobirthing can gently but powerfully support families through fertility, pregnancy, birth and beyond—and why trusting your body's intelligence is the most radical thing a parent can do.
When I tell people I'm a homeopath and hypnobirthing practitioner, I often see the same reaction: curiosity, followed by uncertainty. “Does that actually work?” “Isn't that just placebo?” “What if something goes wrong?”
I understand the hesitation. We live in a culture that equates strength with force and healing with speed. But what if I told you that some of the most profound shifts I've witnessed in families have come through the gentlest of approaches?
Here's what I wish more parents knew about natural healing.
Homeopathy: Gentle Doesn't Mean Weak
Homeopathy is one of the most misunderstood systems of medicine. People assume that because the remedies are gentle and non-toxic, they can't possibly be powerful. But I've seen homeopathy support women through recurrent miscarriage, help babies who were struggling with colic for weeks finally settle, and ease the emotional weight of postnatal depression when nothing else had touched it.
Homeopathy works with your body, not against it. It doesn't suppress symptoms—it listens to them. Every symptom is information, and a well-chosen remedy helps the body complete the healing process it's already trying to do.
Gentle doesn't mean weak. It means working at the depth where real change lives— without force, without side effects, without overriding the body's own intelligence.
What makes it so well-suited for families is its safety profile. Remedies can be used during pregnancy, in labour, postnatally, and for newborns and children. There are no contraindications with other medications. It's a system of medicine that meets you exactly where you are.
“But What If I Need Something Stronger?”
This is the question I hear most often. And I always answer honestly: natural healing is not about rejecting conventional medicine. It's about expanding your toolkit. There are times when medical intervention is absolutely necessary, and I will always support a family in accessing that.
Natural healing isn't about choosing sides. It's about having more options, more understanding, and more confidence in your decisions.
Many of my clients use homeopathy alongside conventional care—and the two can complement each other beautifully.
But what I also know is that many families are searching for something more. They want to understand why their child keeps getting ear infections, not just treat each one. They want to address the anxiety that runs through the family line, not just manage the surface symptoms. Homeopathy allows us to go deeper—to look at inherited patterns, emotional roots, and the whole person, not just the presenting complaint.
The Hypnobirthing Myth
Hypnobirthing has a bit of an image problem. Many people picture candles, whale music, and a “perfect” birth that only works if nothing goes wrong. But that's not what hypnobirthing is—not even close.
Hypnobirthing is about knowledge, confidence, and emotional preparation. It's about understanding how your body works in labour, knowing your options, and feeling empowered to make decisions—whatever path your birth takes. It's just as relevant for a planned caesarean as it is for a home water birth.
Hypnobirthing isn't about having the “perfect” birth. It's about feeling informed, confident, and supported—no matter what happens.
The breathing techniques, visualisation tools, and fear-release work we do together give parents a toolkit that lasts far beyond the birth room. I've had clients tell me they used their hypnobirthing techniques during toddler meltdowns, work presentations, and even dental appointments. It's a mindset shift that stays with you.
Trusting Your Body, Your Baby, Your Instincts
If there's one thread that runs through all of my work—whether it's homeopathy, hypnobirthing, or holistic wellness—it's this: your body is intelligent. Your baby is intelligent. And your instincts, even when they feel buried under doubt and noise, are worth listening to.
So much of modern parenting culture tells us to override what we feel. To follow the schedule, to ignore the gut feeling, to defer to the expert. And while expert guidance is valuable (I'm offering it right now), I believe the most radical thing a parent can do is learn to trust themselves again.
Your body knows how to grow, birth, and nourish life
Your baby communicates clearly when we learn to listen
Your parental instincts are ancient, powerful, and worthy of trust
The most radical thing a parent can do is learn to trust themselves again.
Why I Do This Work
My journey into homeopathy and hypnobirthing was deeply personal. After experiencing the transformative power of these modalities in my own life—through fertility challenges, pregnancy, and motherhood—I knew I wanted to hold that space for other families.
Every family I work with reminds me why this matters. Whether it's a mother who finally feels heard after months of struggling, a couple who walk into their birth feeling genuinely prepared, or a child whose eczema clears after we address the emotional root—these moments are everything.
I'm deeply grateful to be part of the Kinurture community, where families can discover practitioners who share this philosophy of gentle, empowered care. Platforms like Kinurture make it possible for parents to find the right support at the right time—and that can make all the difference.
