Clinical Hypnotherapist – Branches Hypnotherapy
Zoe explores how hypnotherapy goes far beyond hypnobirthing—supporting parents through postnatal anxiety, identity shifts, and emotional healing—and introduces The ReRoot Method, her framework for helping parents reconnect with themselves.
When people think of hypnotherapy, they often think of hypnobirthing—and for very good reason. It's powerful, transformative, and has supported countless families (mine included) to welcome their babies with calm, confidence and empowerment. But hypnotherapy doesn't end when the birth plan is packed away.
As a clinical hypnotherapist specialising in perinatal support, I see firsthand how many parents need continued care in the weeks, months, and even years after birth. From postnatal anxiety and burnout to identity shifts and emotional eating, there's often an undercurrent of struggle that's never quite explored at the six-week check up.
So here's what I wish more parents knew about the power of hypnotherapy:
More Than Relaxation — A Catalyst for Deep Change
Yes, it feels blissful (and that in itself is therapeutic for busy brains), but it's also an active process. Hypnotherapy works with the subconscious—the part of the mind responsible for habits, beliefs, and emotional responses—making it fast, focused, and efficient. Especially compared to traditional talking therapies, which can take longer and feel emotionally exhausting.
Parents often come to me asking, “Can it really work that quickly?”
Yes. Because we're working beneath the surface. Instead of untangling every thread of your story, we gently rewire the beliefs keeping you stuck. Many of my clients feel a noticeable shift after just one session.
Let's Bust a Myth
Hypnosis is not mind control—it's actually a state of greater control and focus.
You're fully aware, just deeply relaxed and more open to change, with your brain operating in the theta brainwave state.
Another common misconception? That hypnotherapy is only for hypnobirthing or anxiety. In reality, it can support almost any area of mental or emotional wellbeing—especially for parents who feel like they've lost parts of themselves in the shift.
One Small Shift Can Ripple Outward
Your mind believes what you tell it most often.
The stories we repeat—even without thinking—shape how we feel, act, and respond. Simply noticing your inner dialogue, and shifting it even slightly, can begin to change everything. I use NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) in my practice to support clients to re-write their script, without conscious effort—and the results can be profound.
When a Parent Feels Safe, the Whole Family Benefits
This work is personal for me. I've seen how powerful it is when a mother feels grounded again, or a father finds space to breathe, or a woman reconnects with who she is beyond feeding schedules and sleep regressions. I give parents perspective, which is golden when you're lost in the thick of it all.
When a parent feels safe, calm, and seen… the whole family benefits.
A Framework for Modern Parents
The ReRoot Method is a gentle but powerful framework that helps parents reveal, embrace, and shift what's holding them back—so they can tether into their new identity with clarity and confidence.
The Afterglow is the postnatal programme, designed to guide parents into a nurturing relationship with themselves, unhook limiting beliefs attached to their sense of parenthood, and help embrace this significant life shift—so they are able to nurture their families and flourish in themselves.
